Two Monks at Chuns 8-11-09

Both monks came up at the same time at Chuns Reef today at 4:15p

The one on the right, according to "DB" is Lona or RO17. I believe that DB said She usually frequents Molokai.

Apparently that bleach spot on its right side is a bleached out cookie cutter bite.

I don't know which one this one is. I'll wait for a positive ID from those in the know. For now, all seem to suggest that this one is a male.

Right Spot at Pipeline 5-18-09

First I check the site and look for any markings, cause yep . . . it's the same little lady as yesterday.

So I wait and I wait and I wait. She would not turn over.

Then a wave comes and clips her rolling her over and whappo . . . she flips out her ID card.

Ehukai Beach on 5-17-09 Soooo who is it?

4 new pictures to help in the identity of this lady.

Here's the first set of shots

I couldn't wait any longer for this lady to roll over. Any body else got some suggestions? Is it Right Spot? I'm gonna double check that fin match up with other pictures. The jury is still out on this one.

I understand Barbara saw Right Spot at sunset beach last week, but I was not able to get there to take photo's. Hopefully she did and will send them over.

N-12 at Hauula 4-23-9

Brief note: Somebody to called in to the MHL = Monk Hot Line and said that there was a Monk located somewhere in Hauula. The address was uncertain, but she did say that the Monk was identified as N-12. The closest Monk I know about with a name similar is R012 nick named Kermit, but Kermit only is known to hang around the South shore from White Planes (Ewa Beach) to Diamond Head. So I don't know where this caller got her information from.

Because of the time it would have taken me to get there and how extremely busy I was at the time, I didn't get a chance to go view the Monk myself. Hopefully someone did and will E the pictures to me. This is all the information I have on the Monk.

UPDATE FROM JEN NOAA MONK REP: Just wanted to let you know that the seal seen in Hauula yesterday was 2AW. He received the bleach mark N12 from Tracy back in March on the 31st. The search is still on for Kermit :-(

Then DB chimes in with his report: I just saw the blog (1739), and Jenn is correct . That was 2AW (male) at Hauula today. I also got word that R5AY was at Punaluu today. DB
