Here is a fresh cut on KC's right hind quarter. According to Dana, this scrape is about 2 weeks old. So she would have received it the last week of Feb. 2011

Attached should be all of the better pictures I took at Gas Chambers on New Year's Day. Hope they all come thru. I relieved Joy and stayed till 6:30 and Right Spot was still there. It was a great day educated people about the seals. Not to much ignorance from the passer byers only a few as seen in the pictures:(

1-1-11

I arrived at Aweoweo Beach Park in Cement City/Waialua around 5pm. The crowd was busy with very small children (nothing like white plains I'm sure). I relieved the other seal lady (sorry don't remember her name). Thanks to the Schott's who guarded one side of the seal protection zone while I guarded the other. It was a small but excited crowd with only one belligerent man. I believe the seal is KC but I will leave that up to the experts. I stayed till 7pm and the seal was still there. If she is there is the morning they will need more signs and some rope. There were only two signs posted. But that sure was better than none:) Hope the pictures come out. I tried to recruit a few more volunteers:)

I might sneak back over around 10pm to see if she is still there.
