Right spot 10-31-10

Here's the second landing on the North Shore. Both at sunset beach. Here Right Spot is basking at backyards.

Apparently she's a little too lazy to move.

Here's her signature tatoo. Your Right Spot shot is the first opportunity to see if her new "N6" bleach took. It looks great. She also has one on her right shoulder for future reference. DB

And here's her signature other tatoo, but this ones a little more natural :o)

Oct 31 goes out with a double hitter

Here's KC taking a break at Sunset Beach by Kami's in front of the life guard tower. What appears to be an over extended frown on KC's mouth is apparently a tear that she experienced since the last time she was photo'd by me. Maybe DB will chime in and let us know how she came by the scar.

Your KC shot was grrrrreat. What you see there is a recently acquired fishing line scar at he right corner of her mouth. You can just barely see that she also has one at the left corner of her mouth that she had when I met her in 2005. Dera commented that we might have to change her name to "The Joker". Those scars are gained when robbing fishing lines. They will not let go and the line or leader cuts them at that location. It's quite common to see scars like that on animals, though not necessarily that large. Ya' Done Good !!! DB

Notice from our Headquarters

Aloha Volunteers,

As most of you know the ongoing monitoring of Ua'Malie is continuing. She has been very far from her birthplace on several occasions, but always returns to one or two spots that she seems to be comfortable with.

There are several seals that also haul out in these areas at Turtle Bay, so our diligence is sometimes rewarded by other seals and other outreach opportunities in the area. I encourage you all to continue to volunteer for NorthShore response as we just never know what kind of great seal day may occur. Seals spotted and sometimes run off include, R5AY, Right Spot, Lona, KC, and Ua'Malie. These are all females and their safety is extremely important to the recovery of the species here in the Main Hawaiian Islands.

Four seals last weekend and three seals in the last two days have been spotted in this NorthShore resort area. Sean was able to bleach mark Right Spot today and she is wearing two new N6 beauty marks. R5AY was also on the beach at the resort and her presence there offers a prime opportunity to educate the masses hanging out on these beaches.

Ua'Malie is still of the utmost importance in continuing to monitor her and keep her wild and away from the populated beaches. Please keep in mind your help and response can be utilized at Turtle Bay if Ua'Malie is having a day at sea.

The days are getting shorter and therefore the amount of slots in the schedule have shrunken. Please take a good look at what you can do and help monitor and watch over these beautiful NorthShore girls.

Mahalo for all you do.

10-16-10 Lona at Ke Iki's

Sorry, got so busy I forgot to post 'em. Thanks Dera for the reminders. My guess is it must be Lona??

Then the mastah shows up and posts: Howzit Todd, I was wondering whatever happened to these shots. I was happy to find them this morning. This is Lona (R017). In the last shot you can just barely see her right side, mid body Cookie Cutter scar. Ya' Done Good ! DB
